The Podiatry Board of Australia (the Board) congratulates Dr Janice ‘Jan’ Davies who was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in this year’s Queen’s Birthday honours.
The honour, which is awarded for service worthy of particular recognition, was awarded to Dr Davies for service to community health. In addition to her role as a community member of the Board, Dr Davies is a member of the Victorian Registration and Notification Committee of the Dental Board of Australia. She is also an independent healthcare consultant and has been involved in a number of organisations including the National Quality Dementia Care Initiative, Dementia Australia (formerly Alzheimer’s Australia), and the National Institute of Clinical Studies.
Board Chair, Dr Cylie Williams, said the Board was delighted Dr Davies’ contribution to the community and the work of the National Scheme had been recognised.
‘Dr Davies has had, and continues to have, a remarkable influence on her community and the National Scheme and it is wonderful to have her important work publicly recognised,’ Dr Williams said.
‘We congratulate and honour Dr Davies for both her accomplishment and contribution.’
Dr Davies has been a member of the Podiatry Board of Australia since 2015.
